Shadowing Exercise 1:

While this lesson is intended to focus mostly on writing, many of these phrases we use while speaking as well, so we’ve included shadowing exercises for those phrases.

Listen to each statement from an American English speaker. Then try to repeat each phrase to practice talking like a native English speaker.

Shadowing Exercise Transcript:

  • I wanted to… get your input on the Example Industries proposal.
  • I reached out because… I know you voiced interest in the new position.
  • Thanks for your quick reply yesterday.
  • I apologize for the late response to your message last week.
